PIttsburgh cop charged in fourth sex-related case

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Pittsburgh police officer charged with offering legal assistance to three women in exchange for sexual favors has now been charged with trying to rape a fourth woman.

Authorities say 34-year-old police Officer Adam Skweres attacked the fourth alleged victim on Feb. 11 and today charged him with attempted rape, indecent assault and other crimes.

Skweres had been arrested Thursday on charges of bribery, coercion, indecent assault and related charges for three other incidents since 2008 involving three other women, and was immediately suspended without pay.

Police say Skweres allegedly told one woman he’d write a favorable letter in her child custody case if she had sex with him and told another woman he could influence her boyfriend’s case in exchange for sex.

Skweres’ attorney denied the charges and says his accusers aren’t credible.
