2 rescued from truck hanging off SE Ohio bridge

HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) — Firefighters have rescued two people from a pickup truck that ended up hanging over the side of an elevated railroad bridge in southwestern Ohio.

The fire department in Hamilton says the driver apparently tried to cross the railroad bridge but lost control, and the vehicle became stuck nearly 30 feet above a street. Firefighters used a ladder tower to rescue the pair early this morning, about 20 miles north of Cincinnati.

The two people in the truck were not hurt. They were taken into custody by police.

Officials from rail operator CSX were working to remove the vehicle from the tracks later Friday morning.

Local officials said the tracks were expected to remain closed until they could be cleared and inspected.
