White House to have Hispanic Community Action Summit on Saturday in Cleveland area

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The White House will host a Hispanic Community Action Summit at the Lorain County Community College in Elyria beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

The summit is the latest in a series of regional meetings across the country that provides an opportunity for senior Obama Administration officials to interact with members of the Hispanic community on a wide range of issues critical to developing an economy that is built to last, according to a White House press release.

White House and Cabinet agency officials will meet with Cleveland area community leaders, small business owners and state and local elected officials at the summit.

The all-day gathering includes forums designed to facilitate in-depth discussions on topics from jobs and the economy to education, health care and the need to fix our nation’s broken immigration system, according to the release.

The summit at the college, 1005 North Abbe Road, will begin with a morning plenary followed by a set of open space dialogues, in which participants set the agenda and identify action steps with officials throughout the afternoon.

Those attending must register in advance to participate at http://go.usa.gov/QCG. A report on the president’s agenda and the Hispanic community is available at http://www.whitehouse.gov/hispanic.
