Youngstown police arrested a 21-year-old Campbell man and handed him over to Campbell police after officers say his stash of suspected marijuana fell out of his pocket in front of a marked Youngstown police cruiser.
According to police, Reginald Ware, 21, was at the BP Gas Station on McCartney Road on Tuesday parked not far from police when the arrest took place. Ware was reportedly getting out of a car when the illegal substance fell from his pocket in front of officers. Ware picked up the marijuana and went into the store, but was arrested shortly thereafter.
Car crash near YSU
YOUNGSTOWN
A 45-year-old city woman remained in critical condition Wednesday after a car crash near the Youngstown State University campus.
Susan Welsh was injured when she was a passenger in a car driven by her mother, Elaine Welsh, 79, of Youngstown, reports state. Welsh’s car was westbound on Rayen Avenue and was hit about 3 p.m. Tuesday by a car driven by YSU student Samantha Yoder, 21, of Alliance, who was heading southbound on Fifth Avenue.
The mother and daughter were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center and police said Elaine Welsh is in stable condition. Detectives said charges are pending.
