Country music duo Sugarland, with opening act Canaan Smith, will play Covelli Centre on April 6 as a part of its “In the Hands of the Fans Tour.” Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 24 through Ticketmaster.com, all ticketmaster locations, the Covelli Centre box office and by phone at 800-745-3000. Tickets are $42.50, $59.50 and $69.50.

The superstar act last played Covelli Centre in December 2007. More recently, it played Blossom Music Center and First Niagara Pavilion last May.

Sugarland — vocalist Jennifer Nettles and guitarist Kristian Bush — has won multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM awards and sold more than 9 million records.

The act has had seven No. 1 singles since hitting the music scene in 2004 with its album “Twice The Speed Of Life” (which included “Baby Girl” and ”Something More”). “Enjoy the Ride (“Want To,” “Settlin” and ”Stay”) quickly followed in 2006.

Their third studio album, “Love On The Inside” (“It Happens,” “Love,” “All I Want To Do” and ”Already Gone”) in July 2008 rocketed the act to superstardom.

In 2010, “The Incredible Machine” was released (“Stuck Like Glue” and ”Little Miss”) at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and to date has sold more than 1.2 million copies.

Nettles has performed at the Kennedy Center Honors with musical tributes to Bruce Springsteen and Neil Diamond, and the duo has collaborated live with stars like Adele, Rihanna and Lady Gaga.
