Man shot in head on South Side this afternoon

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating an afternoon shooting on the city’s South Side.

Police were called to the area of West Lucius Avenue at about 3 p.m. for a shooting where a man in his late teens or early 20s was wounded.

Police would not immediately release the man’s name or condition, but did say he is believed to have been shot in the head.

Police said investigators are still on the scene, but more details about the shooting should be available later in the evening.
