WEDNESDAY

Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a baked chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the church. The meal includes salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. Cost is $6.50, and containers will be available for takeout orders. No reservations are necessary. THURSDAY

Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland, will sell takeout beef tips and noodles dinners from 3:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Brendan Church, 144 N. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. in the church hall. There will be a choice of beer batter, fried, baked or Cajun-style fish served with a choice of sides, dessert and coffee. The cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. An extra piece of fish is $5 and extra sides are $2 or $3. Luncheon specials from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. are takeout only and include a dinner for $9 or a sandwich and side for $6. St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $5 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $4.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Walk-in orders will be available. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

VFW Post 9571 of Ellsworth, 11397 Ellsworth Road, is having an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. There also will be four-piece chicken, chicken fingers or shrimp dinners, all served with french fries or macaroni and cheese. The cost is $7.50 for adults and $7 for seniors.

SATURDAY

Good Hope Lutheran Church, 12030 Market St., North Lima, is having a beef tips and noodles dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The meal includes tossed salad, bread, cherry pie and ice cream, and a beverage. The cost is $7.50 for adults and $3.50 for children 6 to 12. Children 5 and under eat free. Takeouts are available. For information or tickets call the church office at 330-549-2406.

SUNDAY

Fowler Fire Department will have its monthly pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the fire station on state Route 193. The cost for adults is $6; seniors, $5; and children, $4. Preschoolers eat free.

Girard FC Boys Soccer Club will host a pasta dinner fundraiser from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Girard United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St. Dinners include pasta, meatballs, salad, bread and butter, dessert and a beverage. The cost is $7, and carryouts will be available. Children under 3 eat free for dine-in only. There also will be a basket raffle and bake sale.

Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church St., will serve ham dinners from noon to 2 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Men’s Organization, and proceeds will benefit mission projects. Southington American Legion Post 751 will serve breakfasts of sausage and all-you-can-eat pancakes or biscuits and gravy from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the post, 3145 Warren-Burton Road. The donation is $6.50 for adults and $4 for children 5 to 12. Those 4 and under eat free.

Springfield Township Explorers will serve all-you-can-eat pasta dinners from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Station 22, state Route 170, Petersburg. The menu includes pasta, salad, bread, dessert and a beverage. Donations will benefit Explorer/Learning for Life Post 499, a part of Greater Western Reserve Boy Scout Council. Carryouts will be available.

St. George Croatian Center, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown, will serve a chicken-soup dinner from noon to 4 p.m. The meal consists of homemade chicken soup, baked half chicken, vegetable, potato, salad, roll, dessert and a beverage. VFW Triangle Post 2799 Auxiliary, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will sponsor a homestyle breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon. The menu consists of eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast, and coffee or tea. Prices are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Mahoning United Methodist Church, 2214 Mahoning Ave., will sell stuffed cabbage rolls from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until sold out every Tuesday for $1.50 each. To order call 330-799-5318 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Friday. Walk-ins are welcome, but advance orders are appreciated.

Mount Olivet United Church of Christ, 410 W. South Range Road, North Lima, will host its annual Shrove Tuesday pancake and sausage supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Donations will be accepted as a freewill offering.

TAKING ORDERS

Youngstown American Hungarian Club is taking orders for stuffed cabbage at $13 per dozen. Containers provided by the club cost $1.25, or you may take your own. Beaver Creek Sportsman Club, 14480 Washingtonville Road, Washingtonville, will have fish and shrimp dinners beginning Feb. 22 and continuing every Friday through April 6. Dinners will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. and include french fries, coleslaw and a beverage. Dinners are $9 for fish and $8 for shrimp. Carryouts are available.

Girard Eagles 2172, 26 W. Wilson Ave., is having a fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 22. The cost is $9 for a baked or fried fish dinner. Carryouts will be available.

Girard Knights of Columbus Council 2935 will serve Lenten fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 22, and on Fridays during Lent except March 16 and April 7. The menu includes baked or fried fish, coleslaw, french fries, bread, cake and coffee. Pop and water are available for 50 cents. The children’s menu includes spaghetti with sauce or macaroni and cheese. Cost is $7.50 for adults and $4.50 for children 4 to 12. Children 3 and under eat free.

Shepherd of the Valley, 7148 West Blvd., Boardman, will have a fish fry from 3 to 6 p.m. March 9. Baked or fried fish will be offered, and side dishes are hush puppies, coleslaw and a choice of homemade french fries or macaroni and cheese. St. Columba Cathedral will have its seventh annual pasta fagioli dinner from 11 a.m to 7 p.m. Feb. 22 in the cathedral hall on Wood Street, Youngstown. The cost for adults is $6, which includes a bowl of pasta fagioli, salad, dessert, bread and butter and a beverage; children 10 and under (dine-in only) eat for $4.
