Police: Valley Forge cadet assaults fellow student
RADNOR, Pa. (AP) — A Valley Forge Military Academy cadet is facing charges for the alleged sexual assault of a fellow cadet.
Nineteen-year-old Jerrell McEachin was charged last week with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and other charges.
Radnor Township police say they were called to a campus dorm on Feb. 8. A female cadet said McEachin had forced her to engage in a sex act after she refused his advances.
McEachin, of Philadelphia, was released on $10,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday was continued until next month.
Attorney Andrew Gay says he’s preparing the defense for McEachin, who he called “an extraordinarily respectful young man.”
A statement from the school says it does not tolerate behavior that jeopardizes the safety of its cadets.
