Courteney Cox’s sitcom “Cougar Town” returns to TV tonight. Cox, of course, is best known for her decade playing Monica Geller on “Friends.” But in the decade before she hit it big in 1994, she did have a significant tube presence:
v Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” video (1984): In this MTV staple, she was the girl pulled onstage to dance with The Boss.
v “Misfits of Science” (1985-86): She was part of the ensemble of this superhero fantasy series playing Gloria, a reformed delinquent with telekinetic powers.
v “Family Ties” (1987-88): She had the recurring role of Lauren Miller, the girlfriend of Alex P. Keaton (Michael J. Fox), in the final season.
v “The Trouble With Larry” (1993): Cox played the sister of a married woman whose first husband (Bronson Pinchot) returned home many years after he was presumed dead. (He was away much longer than this show, which was gone after three episodes.)
v “Seinfeld” (March 17, 1994): In “The Wife,” she was Jerry’s girlfriend who pretends to be his spouse so she can share his dry-cleaning discount.
“glee” (8 p.m., fox): It’s Valentine’s Day on “Glee,” and the kids are challenged to find the world’s greatest love songs. But the real news is that viewers will finally meet Rachel’s (Lea Michele) two dads, played by Jeff Goldblum and Brian Stokes Mitchell.
“cougar town” (8:30 P.M., ABC): Break out the wine. After a hiatus that lasted way too long, the hilarious “Cougar Town” returns. In the season premiere, Grayson (Josh Hopkins) gets under Jules’ (Courteney Cox) skin by accusing her of being predictable.

‘Shawshank’ event draws ghost hunters
MANSFIELD
The annual cleanup of the former Ohio prison where “The Shawshank Redemption” was filmed has drawn dozens of people, including some in search of paranormal activity.
The News Journal in Mansfield reports nearly 85 people from Ohio and neighboring states met at the former Ohio State Reformatory over the weekend.
They swept floors and picked up broken concrete and paint chips. Some were keeping an eye out for signs that would bolster the building’s reputation as a haunted prison.
Ghost hunt manager Scott Sukel says the group was able to clean most of the building because there was more help than anticipated.
