Animal Charity donation drive begins this week

Emerging Leaders Program at Youngstown State University and Animal Charity Humane Society are conducting the agency’s annual donation drive, dubbed My Fluffy Valentine, this week.
Dry and canned dog food, puppy food, paper towels, brooms, newspapers, dog and cat toys, plastic grocery bags, large and small garbage bags, steel dog- and cat-food dishes and kitten food are needed by Animal Charity.
They may be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Saturday on the second floor of Kilcawley Center at YSU.
Other needed items include pens and pencils, rawhides, shovels, garden hoses, office supplies, Lysol, air fresheners, laundry detergent, hand or dish soap, fans, copy paper, tissues, blankets, sandwich bags, plastic totes with lids, towels, sponges, plastic or Latex gloves, bleach, hydrogen peroxide and space heaters.
Animal Charity, located on Market Street in Boardman, is Mahoning County’s only active humane society. The agency investigates cases of animal cruelty, provides low-cost veterinary services and cares for animals that need homes.
