Warren man gets prison term on assault charge

WARREN — Wallace L. Walters, 29, of Draper Avenue Southeast, has been sentenced to 21⁄2 years in prison for firing multiple gunshots into a 19-year-old man in the parking lot of the ACOP Center, 2051 Niles Road SE, during an argument Sept. 24, 2010.

Walters pleaded guilty today in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to aggravated assault with a specification that he used a firearm. Walters also pleaded guilty to being a felon in illegal possession of a firearm.
