Girard woman hits Ohio lottery for $345,000, after taxes

GIRARD

Kimberly L. Matey of Girard won $50K for 20 years, a one million dollar prize after she scratched the Ohio Lottery’s $5 Million jackpot instant game ticket.

Lottery officials said winning ticket holders have the option to choose cash or the annuity. Matey chose the cash option. After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent are withheld, she receives a check for $345,000. She purchased the ticket from Girard Expresso Market in Girard.
