Calling hours for shooting victim

Calling hours for shooting victim

Canfield

The family of Stacey Sutera, who was shot and killed outside of her Canfield apartment Wedneday morning, will have calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Canfield Lane Family Funeral Home.

Police believe her stalker Robert McLaughlin, 64, of Painesville, shot the 40-year-old teacher as she was leaving for work.

The funeral home is at 65 N. Broad St.

McLaughlin was found 30 hours later dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was lying next to his mother’s grave in a Unionville cemetery.

Liberty 911 meeting

Liberty

The Liberty Fraternal Order of Police and township trustees are urging residents to attend today’s trustee meeting and speak out on the township’s proposed plan to move local dispatching to the Trumbull County 911 Center in Howland.

Trustees said the move will save the township about $200,000 a year and none of the four dispatchers will lose their job. The union says the plan will compromise safety. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at the township administration building.
