ANIMAL Cruelty Time line
Over the past two weeks, there have been five incidents of animal cruelty involving seven dogs in Youngstown:
1. Jan. 30, officials find two German shepherd puppies strangled on Federal Street downtown in the median in front of Western Reserve Transit Authority
2. Feb. 1, a dog is found in a ravine near Ohio Avenue and Tod Lane. A necropsy revealed several bite wounds on the dog’s body.
3. Feb. 6, Two dogs are thrown onto Midlothian Boulevard from the Interstate 680 overpass. They live and are returned to owners. The perpetrators have not been found.
4. Wednesday, a black Labrador retriever is found with its right rear leg cut off near Oneta Street and Salt Springs Road. The Labrador lives and will be adopted soon.
5. Wednesday, officials discover a dog dead for at least a couple of days in a secluded area south of the Ohio Works Drive cul de sac. A necropsy reveals it was likely starved to death.
