The Poland library introduced a new way to learn at the facility with its Jan. 31 “Lego My Library” event.

Lego lovers were invited to the event to use their imagination to create masterpieces and the building blocks were provided by the library for the guests.

“With Legos, the children can learn how to organize and design a building and work to bring it to life. It’s also fun for them to interact with other kids who have similar interests,” said librarian Linda Kucilaba.

The event was popular among both boys and girls and the open-ended nature of the event allowed the children to build planes, trains, boats, forts and skyscrapers to their heart’s content.

For those who weren’t quite ready to build right away, Lego books available from the Poland library offered inspiration to get started.

Kucilaba said the strong showing of enthusiastic guests at the Jan. 31 event was encouraging and that the facility hopes to host the event again.

“We welcome any opportunity for children to have this much fun while visiting the library,” Kucilaba added.
