ATA Black Belt Academy’s Junior Leadership students recently sponsored a drive to collect money for the American Cancer Society. The Junior Leadership students, under the direction of Robert Long, fourth degree Black Belt Owner/Instructor and Brielle Campos, fourth degree Black Belt, Certified Head Instructor, distributed pill bottles donated by our local Giant Eagle Pharmacy in Boardman to each student in the center.

The Junior Leadership members challenged all ATA students to fill at least one bottle with quarters. When filled it becomes a $10 donation to the Cancer Society.

The ATA students rallied for this important cause and collected $1,000. A check was donated to the local Board of the American Cancer Society members Lori Probst and Tasha Wells.

The Junior Leaders who contributed are Matt Commons, Ty Cook, Kirsten Cutter, Max Josten, Noelle Kosela, Luke Lankitus, Lindsay Matey, Joelle Oates, Zach Palikaras, Erika Pallante, Andre Rodriguez, Abigail and Caroline Scharf.

ATA Black Belt Academy held a pizza party (pizza donated by Struthers Belleria Pizza) for the contributing students. Four-year-old Paige Rosado from Struthers collected $100 and 6-year-old Michael Miller from Boardman, collected $70. Both were honored for being the highest contributors.

The Junior Leaders challenge was between boys and girls. The girls won the challenge by collecting the most money and were served pizza by the boys at the party.
