Donate pet shelter supplies at YSU's Fluffy Valentine drive next week

The Emerging Leader Program at Youngstown State University will sponsor a drive, “My Fluffy Valentine,” for donations of products to benefit Animal Charity.

Donations may be dropped off between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Feb. 18 on the second floor of Kilcawley Center on campus.

Supplies urgently needed are dry and canned cat and dog food, puppy and kitten food, paper towels, brooms, newspapers, dog and cat toys, dog waste bags, large and small garbage bags, steel dishes and cat litter.

Other items needed are rawhides, garden hoses, shovels, office supplies, disinfectant spray, air freshener, fans, blankets, plastic totes with lids, towels, sponges, plastic and latex gloves, bleach, hydrogen peroxide and space heaters.

Animal Charity, Mahoning Count's humane society, is located at 4140 Market St., Boardman. It handles cruelty and abuse cases; Call 330-788-1064 to report any known or suspected incidences of animal abuse, neglect or cruelty.

The agency operates on donations from the community and provides low-cost veterinary services and animals for adoption.
