ASSOCIATIONS

Northeast Homeowners and Concerned Citizens Association will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Price AME Zion Church, 920 Dryden Ave., Youngstown. William D’Avignon, director of the Community Development Agency of the City of Youngstown, will conduct the program. Citizens are invited to offer suggestions on how the city should allocate HUD resources within the Consolidate Plan. CLASSES

Chapter CE of PEO Sisterhood will meet Wednesday at A La Cart in Canfield for a noon lunch and meeting. The program topic will be “Health and Wellness,” and the guest speaker will be Cindy Perkins of Cindy’s Health and Vitality Center. Hostesses will be Joan Morrison and Karen Dennison.

Kent State Mothers Club will meet at noon Wednesday at Lake Vista Retirement Community, 303 N. Mecca St., Cortland. A program on nutrition will be presented by Anna Adair, a registered dietitian, and lunch will be provided by the facility. Hostesses are Sara Smith, Jayne Boucherle and JoAnn Ellis. Mahoning County Retreads will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Saturday at Denny’s, 4927 Mahoning Ave., Austintown. McDonald Literary Guild will meet at 8 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Park United Methodist Church.

Western Reserve Knitting Guild is meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Park in Canfield. The program will focus on one-skein projects. Each member is asked to take one large skein of yarn in a brown paper bag. The bags will be distributed among the members, who are then asked to take their yarn home and create a project for show and tell at next month’s meeting.

LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of the Austintown Library will meet at 10 a.m. Feb. 20 in the community room at the Austintown Library, 600 S. Raccoon Road. The guest speaker will be Mike Wilson, who will impersonate and present a program on President William McKinley. The meeting is open to the public, and refreshments will be served.

Friends of the Boardman Library will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the community room at the Boardman Library, 7680 Glenwood Ave. Refreshments will be served, and Bob Cogeshall will present a program about butterflies at 10. Hostesses will be Dorothy Velker, Martha Standley and Marjorie Burin. Guests and new members are welcome; no reservations required. The public is encouraged to support reading programs by donating books, magazines and CDs. The group collects donated items from 10 a.m. to noon on the first and third Saturday of each month.

Friends of the Hubbard Library has 10 tables (30 inches by 72 inches) for sale to Friends members on a first-come basis. The tables have been used in the book sale. They are heavy-duty and brown wood-grain with folding legs; most are height-adjustable. The price is $15 each, and they can be picked up in the library meeting room. Mount Carmel Society of St. Rose Church will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the lower church.
