The 365 student musicians who make up the various bands in the Canfield Middle and High schools are hard at work practicing for the upcoming Pasta Dinner and Chinese Auction on Feb. 25.

This is the 42nd year of this community-wide event that serves up around 1,600 dinners to the community. Throughout the day, the various bands and ensembles provide live entertainment for the parents and guests at the event.

“It is a day filled with great kids, great music and great food,” said Michael Kelly, the CHS Band Director. “And given this event has run for 42 years, it is a testament to the dedication of the parents and the community.”

In addition to the great food and music, there is a popular Chinese auction that brings in treasures from the community and around the world.

The doors open at 11 a.m. and food is served until 6 p.m. Tickets are $7 for a large portion and $5 for a small portion. The dinner includes pasta, meatball or sausage, bread, salad and dessert. Coffee and sodas are available as well.
