Golf tryouts under way

Any boy in grades 8-11, who was not part of last year’s golf team, that wishes to try out for the next year’s golf team should contact coach Ed Santor as soon as possible. He will explain program requirements and schedule a one-on-one lesson to evaluate golf skills. Santor can be reached at 330-793-6760 or fitchgolfcoach@yahoo.com.

Golf event set for this summer

The annual Pink Ribbon Gold Classic will be held at Tippecanoe Country Club on July 16. All proceeds from this event will go directly to the American Cancer Society. The Pink Ribbon committee will also sponsor a bus trip this spring to a local casino. Watch for further details on both of these events.

Fitch accepts nominations for Hall of Fame Class

The Austintown Fitch High School Athletic Hall of Fame is accepting nominations for the fifth Hall of Fame class. All nominations are due by March 30. Bossone Masters final this weekend

The final weekend of the 2012 Youngstown Senior Masters John Bossone Memorial will be Saturday at Amron Lanes and Sunday at McKinley Lanes at 1 p.m.

After the final four games, a stepladder portion will be contested among the four bowlers with best total pinfall to determine the senior masters champion.

After the first two rounds at Wedgewood and Bell-Wick Bowl, the leader was Dan Guerrieri, followed by Joe Nuzzo, Bill Lovell and Frank Florjancic. Other leaders heading into this weekend were Gene “Pie” Rossi (60 to 69 age group) and Paul Scheetz (70 and older).
