Passing laws isn’t meant to be easy

Passing laws isn’t meant to be easy

I often read the letters to the editor. Why is it that those on the left complain when the Republicans try to block a Democratic piece of legislation, yet when the Democrats use the same tactics it is just part of the legislative process? I guess those on the left would rather have a king elected as long as the king will implement laws and programs they approve. They don’t seem to be capable of understanding that the Constitution was purposefully designed to make the creation of new legislation difficult.

James Madison understood that power is a corrupting influence and thus designed a document with numerous checks and balances. The tyrants on the left are more than happy to spend other people’s money.

They want their share of the pie even though they didn’t help bake it. This entitlement mentality is quickly bankrupting the nation and all will be worse off in the end. When the producers quit producing, the game is over.

Assigning personal responsibility

Concerning the immature M.I.A.’s flip-off to the nation on the Super Bowl halftime show, isn’t it she who should be blamed for her actions, not the NFL or NBC?

How could anyone but her know that she was going to do that? At 36 years-old, she still doesn’t know how to conduct herself in public. Place the blame where it belongs: on her.
