LOUIE TODAY: Latest on brutalized dogs and stalled Nitro's bill
Tom Raab of New York City, pet dad of Nitro, one of the dogs starved to death by Steve Croley, will share a call he received from Mahoning Valley legislators, state Rep. Ron Gerberry of Austintown, who appears to have given up on the effort to strengthen animal cruelty laws in Ohio.
Raab said Gerberry said he's done all that he could to move the proposed bill out of committee, but sounds like he's reached the end, Raab said.
And state Rep. Bob Hagan of Youngstown never called back, despite assurances that he would, Raab added.
Also state Sen.,Joe Schiavoni, assistant minority leader, will talk about Gov. John Kasich's "state of the state" speech.
In light of the Mahoning Valley's recent rash of horrific animal cruelty incidents, Louie, Vindy.com's news radio partner, will also ask the senator for help regarding Ohio's inadequate animal cruelty laws.
And Poland Township Police Chief Brian Goodin, candidate for Mahoning County sheriff, will talk about his plans for the sheriff's office.
