Croom and Shorter found guilty in Belleria Pizza robbery
YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County jury today returned guilty verdicts after more than four hours of deliberations against Stanley Croom and Jeffrey Shorter in the 2009 robbery of the Belleria Pizza business on the city's North Side.
Croom, 46, of Plazaview Court, was found guilty of aggravated robbery with a firearm specification, illegal possession of a weapon, attempted aggravated murder and retaliation for threatening harm to a witness.
Shorter, 43, of Orange Avenue, was found guilty of aggravated robbery with a firearm specification.
Judge Lou D'Apolito of common pleas court will sentence the men at a later date. Croom could be sentenced to a total of 39 years in prison. Shorter could get a 13-year sentence.
