Vindy swapping around some content

Today, you’re seeing the first of some changes we’re making in our content offerings at The Vindicator.

Unfortunately, the first changes are eliminations of four comic strips — Hazel, For Better or For Worse, Shoe and Doonesbury.

In the coming weeks, we have some cool local offerings that will join the Vindy lineup that we know you’ll enjoy.

In a perfect world, we’d have these changes all in one week. But the world’s not perfect, as Tom Brady fans learned Sunday.

The thing about comics, is that since the Internet, the game has changed with that business.

Yet we're charging you because the comics companies are charging us.

In this marketplace, we’re forced to redefine ourselves. We’re in that process, but it’s slow and not always perfect. But our goal is to ensure The Vindy remains a place anchored by content that you cannot get elsewhere — from crime info to local arts to school events and more.

Paying the high cost for Doonesbury, Shoe and others is not as exclusive a venture for us anymore.

We provide a lot in The Vindy to serve the Valley. Trust that we will continue to do so, even as we adjust some of our offerings.
