Credit union updates systems

YOUNGSTOWN
An area company has teamed up with a local credit union to help strengthen and grow the local economy and create jobs in the area.
North Canton-based GBS Corp., a leading value- added reseller, delivers a comprehensive array of technology services and solutions. It is providing the Diocese of Youngstown Credit Union with a state-of-the-art core processing system. Additionally, GBS has hired 43 employees in the past year for its computer division, based in Youngstown, and hopes to add more local employees this year.
In conjunction with DOY, GBS has implemented its Sharetec Credit Union Management Solution, which allows the credit union to automate manual tasks and improve efficiencies.
It soon will implement home-banking and mobile- banking modules allowing customers to complete transactions anywhere.
GBS, founded in 1971, is open from 8 to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at 1035 N. Meridian Road.
DOY has more than 4,000 members with assets of more than $40 million. DOY hours at its location on Gypsy Lane near the State Route 711 connector are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and noon to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
