He used a 6 iron on the 185-yard hole. Witnesses were Harry Klucher, Pete Iacino, Rich Cameron and Mike Polanichka.

Fiona Storm captures Big A feature race

NEW YORK

Fiona Storm led all the way Sunday, beating stablemate Gambling Geraldine by one length in the $52,000 allowance feature for New York-bred fillies and mares at Aqueduct.

The first two finishers are both trained by Bruce Levine, and ran as separate betting interests. David Cohen was aboard Fiona Storm as the 5-year-old got her sixth win in 29 starts. The time was 1:12.36 for the six furlongs on the fast track.

Fiona Storm paid $12, $6.90 and $4.90.

Germany’s Henkel takes Oslo biathlon

OSLO, Norway

Andrea Henkel of Germany won the women’s 12.5-kilometer mass start in Oslo for her 21st biathlon World Cup victory.

Henkel missed one target in the first shooting round on the Holmenkollen track Sunday, but grabbed the lead halfway through the race and finished in 38 minutes, 1.2 seconds.

Darya Domracheva of Belarus missed four targets and finished 26.6 seconds behind. Teja Gregorin of Slovenia shot clean to finish third, 27.2 seconds back.

Henkel’s win adds to a streak of victories for Germany in Oslo. On Saturday, Arnd Peiffer and Magdalena Neuner gave Germany a double victory in the pursuit races.

England coach Fabio Capello disagrees with the decision by English soccer authorities to remove John Terry as national team captain.

Terry was stripped of the armband Friday because his racial abuse trial won’t be held until after the European Championship.

Capello told Italy’s state broadcaster RAI on Sunday he “absolutely” disapproves of the ruling by Football Association chairman David Bernstein.

Capello says he spoke with the chairman and told him he doesn’t think “someone can be punished until it becomes official.”

Tour of Qatar cycling

Cycling teams at the Tour of Qatar welcomed the end of a U.S. federal investigation into Lance Armstrong, saying Sunday they were hopeful the seven-time Tour de France champion could finally move on with his life.

Federal prosecutors dropped their investigation of Armstrong on Friday, ending a nearly two-year effort to determine whether the American cyclist and his teammates were involved in doping. Armstrong has long denied doping and said he was “gratified” by the decision.

Mali beats Gabon, 5-4

LIBREVILLE, Gabon

Mali beat co-host Gabon 5-4 in a penalty-kick shootout Sunday to reach the African Cup of Nations semifinals.

Gabon’s hero from the group stage, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, missed his team’s fourth penalty kick. Seydou Keita then scored the decisive penalty kick, allowing Mali to advance. The teams were tied 1-1 after extra time.

The result means both co-hosts have been eliminated within 24 hours. Equatorial Guinea lost 3-0 to Ivory Coast on Saturday.
