‘Biggest Dam Movie’ Friday in Cortland

The Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District will have a free movie night at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Trumbull County Agriculture and Family Education Center, 520 W. Main St.

This month’s movie is “Beavers: The Biggest Dam Movie You Ever Saw.” The movie is not rated, but it is most suited for children age 8 and older. Light refreshments will be served.

An RSVP is recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. Call 330-637-2056.

Child-care agency opens in Boardman

The Village Network, 5500 Market St., will have a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. today .

The Village Network of Youngstown is the 14th Ohio location for the nonprofit, nondenominational child-care agency. The new location offers a treatment foster-care program for boys and girls in the tri-county area.

In 2010, TVN helped 1,317 children and their families. The mission of TVN is to help prepare troubled youths to embrace new, productive lives.

Harding in Warren to open for walkers

WARREN

The front doors to Warren G. Harding High School, 860 Elm Road NE, will be open to the public from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays starting next Monday so the building can be used for walking.

The idea is a way for the public to get exercise and view the new building and for the Warren city school district to thank the public for its support of the district, officials said.
