2 new charges for suspect in Ca. homeless killings

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — Southern California prosecutors have filed two more murder charges against a former Marine already accused of killing four homeless men.

Twenty-three-year-old Itzcoatl Ocampo was charged Monday with killing a 53-year-old woman and her 34-year-old son.

Ocampo’s arraignment has been delayed to March 16 at the request of his defense attorney, who says he needs more time to review the evidence.

The Orange County district attorney alleges that Ocampo is a serial killer who didn’t only target homeless men.

The victims in the new case are related to one of Ocampo’s high school friends.
