SENIOR CITIZENS


55-Plus Club of Mineral Ridge will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Church. Hostesses will be Marge Guthrie, Suzie Merz and Mary Alice Seaborn. After the meeting and card games, members will dine out.

Canfield Chapter 3104, AARP, will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at the Canfield Presbyterian Church. Blood pressure screenings will be available from noon to 12:45 p.m. Guest speaker will be James Willock Jr., Mill Creek MetroParks police chief, presenting a program on “Identity Theft and Scams.” Reservations are being taken for a bus trip on March 10 to see the 2010 four-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical “Memphis” at Playhouse Square in Cleveland. Future bus trips include a mystery trip, March 31; an overnight trip, May 8-9 to the Tulip Festival in Holland, Mich.; and a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game, June 19. Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Wanda Conner will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. Retirees of Ajax Magnethermic will have a Valentine’s Day luncheon at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Vernon’s Cafe in Niles. Spouses and guests are welcome.

S.O.A.R. 27-2 and 27-6, Steelworkers Retirees of Local Union 1330 and 1331, will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at the Austintown Eagles Club, 1655 S. Raccoon Road. Refreshments will be served. New members are welcome.

St. Nicholas Senior Citizens will have a luncheon meeting at 11 a.m. Feb. 14 at the Great Hall with Laverne Cox presiding. Dues of $5 are now payable. All seniors are welcome.

St. Rose Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at Amen Corner for pizza and coffee.

Youngstown State University Freetimers will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Denny’s Restaurant in Boardman. All YSU retirees and friends are welcome.
