Wife charged over judge molestation testimony
NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) — The wife of a former Pennsylvania judge convicted in a molestation case is accused of lying under oath to protect her husband.
Forty-two-year-old Susan Liberace was arraigned Thursday on charges including perjury and false swearing related to her testimony about her husband, District Judge Gerald Liberace.
Gerald Liberace was convicted last year of corruption of minors and child endangerment, but acquitted of indecent assault, in a case involving a 12-year-old girl in 2004.
The state attorney general’s office says Susan Liberace lied during her testimony to a grand jury investigating the case and the jury that presided over her husband’s trial.
A phone message left for Susan Liberace’s attorney wasn’t immediately returned Friday.
Gerald Liberace was sentenced to at least six months in prison in March.
