Sentencing delayed in Ponzi-scheme case

YOUNGSTOWN — The sentencing hearing for Kevin L. Harris, the Warren man who pleaded guilty in federal court to operating a $20 million Ponzi scheme out of offices on Parkman Road, has been rescheduled for March 1 in federal court in Cleveland.

Harris, 46, pleaded guilty a year ago to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud and money laundering. Most of his victims were from the Toronto, Canada, area.

His sentencing has been delayed several times. His Jan. 26 sentencing was delayed after Harris’ attorney asked for more time to review materials that the government had recently provided to Harris that his attorney said are “relevant for sentencing purposes.”
