Basketball tickets to go on sale
The Poland Seminary High School athletic department will begin pre-selling tickets to the Poland boys basketball game against Canfield starting on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Anyone wishing to use a Poland Activity Pass for the game must come to the Poland Seminary High School athletic office and receive a game ticket. No activity passes will be accepted at the door.
Only the AAC league pass will be accepted at the door. This will be enforced do to the expectations of the game being sold out.
The doors will open at 5 p.m.

Athletic department to host parent meeting
The Poland High School athletic department will host its Spring Sports Parent meeting for any high school athlete involved in a spring sport. The meeting will be Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

Mooney’s Vinopal to play at Duquesne
Amy Vinopal, a center/mid-fielder on the Cardinal Mooney girl’s soccer team, has announced her plans to sign a Division I national letter of intent to play soccer at Duquesne University.
Vinopal, who was named Division II “Player of the Year” in Ohio scored 26 goals and had 25 assists for the Cards last fall. In addition, she was named to the “All State” and All-County” teams and was named Vindicator “Player of the Year” and “Fall Athlete of the Year.”
She is the daughter of Charles Vinopal of Boardman. She is coached by Frank Sikich.
Mooney’s Fox top scorer
AJ Fox, a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and a freshman on the University of Akron football team, received the Red Blair Award for being the high scorer on the team.
He was perfect in the place kicking department, going 8-for-8 in field goals and he hit all nine of his extra point tries.
Poland girls lose to Fitch
The Poland girls trailed Fitch 30-19 at halftime and couldn’t rally, falling 58-49 on Jan. 26.
Top scorer for Poland was Abbie Frank with 20 points.
