Pee Wee Phantoms still in playoff hunt

The Youngstown Pee Wee Phantoms kept their playoff hopes alive with a 5-3 win over the Westmoreland Eagles last Saturday on the road.

Youngstown dominated from the beginning, building a 4-0 lead. Colin Faloon (Austintown) scored with 1:46 in the first period to give the Phantoms 1-0 advantage. He was assisted by Michael Fetsko (Boardman).

Devin Whitaker (Boardman) followed that up with a power play score at 12 seconds remaining, off an assist from Faloon.

Youngstown padded its advantage to 3-0 in the second period when Dominic Joseph (Canfield) got his first goal of the game at the 3:18 mark, off an assist from Fetsko.

Joseph scored again with 50 seconds left in the second, with an assist by Bo Gray (Boardman).

Westmoreland cut the deficitto 4-1 at 10:47 in the third. But Youngstown went back up by four goals when Faloon scored at 7:55. Gray got the assist.

The Eagles picked up two goals late in the game to get within 5-3.

Goalie Colin Frost (Boardman) faced 25 shots on goal for Youngstown.
