Falcon Forward assists Fitch basketball

Thanks to the support of the Falcon Forward Committee, the Fitch boys basketball program has access to improved locker room facilities before and after each game.

The committee made this impossible through a $5,500 contribution to the program.

“It’s really made a difference. Our previous facility was rundown and we needed to do something,” said Fitch head coach Brian Beanny. “Falcon Forward stepped up as they have in the past. We really appreciate all they do.”

Last year, Falcon Forward also supported the renovation and upgrade of the girls locker room at Fitch and has supported several other recent gym upgrade projects.

The Falcon Forward Committee is the key private fundraising arm of the Austintown Local School District, raising close to $500,000 in private donations over the last four years to support academic and athletic initiatives.

Committee members include Tom Mock, communications manager of General Motors Ohio manufacturing operations; Lisa Oles, Austintown Township Trustee; Ray Holmes, retired detective sergeant, Austintown Police Department; Rob Conklin, Fitch athletic director; and Lou Chine, former Austintown school board member and local labor leader.
