Canfield swim team beats GlenOak

Neighbors | Submitted.The Canfield girl's swim and dive team are getting ready for Sectionals and carrying on the tradition of putting a purple streak in their hair at Kozak's Salon in Austintown. The girls are (front) Abbey Karlock, Jamie Wellham, Briana O'Malley, Kerra Loomis and stylist Tina Koza (middle) Sarah Heaven, Taylor Rodenbaugh, Olivia Williamson, Mallory Allen, Erin Loomis, Leslie Davis (back) Ally Chiu, Audrey Reed and Alexa Weaver.
The Canfield swim teams scored victories over Canton GlenOak Jan. 27 at CT Brain Natatorium in Canton. The girls earned a 104-79 win, while the boys won 117-63.
Top swimmer for the girls team was Mallory Allen, who placed first in the 100-yard fly and the 500-yard free. Sarah Heaven took first in the 100-yard breaststroke and Olivia Williamson won the 200-yard individual medley.
Winning the 200-yard medley relay was Heaven, Williamson, Allen and Briana O’Malley. Canfield girls Heaven, Erin Loomis, Leslie Davis and Jamie Wellham took first in the 200-yard free relay.
Davis, O’Malley, Williamson and Allen also took first in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Ally Chiu took first place in the diving portion of the competition.
One top scorers for the boys team was Mark Dalvin, who placed first in the 50 and 100-yard free races. Connor Brady won the 100-yard backstroke and the 100-yard fly.
Daniel Bogen took first in the 200-yard free and Kyle Anderson won the 200-yard individual medley. Drew Bennett placed first in the 500-yard free and Jake Smithwon the 100-yard breaststroke.
Winning the 400-yard free relay was the team of Bogen, Michael DiDomenico, Dalvin and Nick Montalto. Bogen, Smith, Montalto and Dalvin took first in the 200-yard free relay.
