Baby Sitter charged with sexually abusing girl

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A suburban Philadelphia baby sitter who already pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography is now accused of photographing himself sexually assaulting a 2-year-old girl left in his care.

Authorities say 56-year-old Gary Romano advertised his baby-sitting services online and they’re asking his other clients to come forward if they suspect their children were abused.

Romano was first arrested on child pornography charges in July and is awaiting sentencing in that case.

Police say a second search of his computers turned up pictures of him assaulting a young girl in Montgomery County in 2009. Investigators say he admitted assaulting the girl, saying he met her through a baby-sitting site.

Romano waived a preliminary hearing on the latest charges Tuesday.
