African dance event to back officer’s race

Educe Group Inc. is presenting Dance for a Cure, an African Fitness Dance Class fundraiser to sponsor Barbara Copeland, a Youngstown Police Department officer, in the Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure.

The fundraiser will take place at 11 a.m. Feb. 11 at St. Andrewes A.M.E. Church, 521 W. Earle Ave. (the former Chicago Field).

The donation is $10 for adults and $5 for youths.

There will be breast cancer information and awareness vendors.

Eboni Bogan is the instructor, and the event is co-sponsored by the church and YSU Africana studies department.
