YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority presents a free Financial Fortitude Workshop for 2012, empowering women of all ages to be more financially informed and successful in a number of financially critical areas.

The theme is “Do More with Less,” and will be from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at Williams Elementary School, 58 Williamson Ave.

Workshop topics will focus upon achieving financial literacy through financial education, critical housing changes, home ownership, Ohio Tuition Trust Program, financial aid, budgeting, and informative breakout sessions along with roundtable discussion groups.

Keynote speaker will be Kenya A. Roberts-Howard, senior program coordinator, Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation.

Breakout sessions will include credit and budgeting with June Johnson of Home Savings; Ohio Tuition Trust Program by Candice McDonald; home ownership, by Linda Booker with Huntington National Bank; and financial aid, loans and grants by Claudette Womack of Youngstown State University.

Roundtable discussion topics feature pre-funeral needs with Nancy Murray of Sibley Funeral Home; wills and trusts by Scott Schulick, Farmers Trust Company; and investments by Flonnoya Franklin.

Delta Sigma Theta serves the Mahoning, Trumbull, and New Castle areas.
