The Game of Hope Charity Basketball Classic Players, coaches are revealed

The team rosters have been announced for The Game of Hope Charity Basketball Classic at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Youngstown State University’s Beeghly Center. The game raises money for chronically and terminally ill children. Tickets are $6 at the door.

This year, Jim Davis, Austintown trustee, and Stan Boney, WYTV news anchor, will be honorary head coaches of the teams, which are comprised of local celebrities.

Team Boney includes Frank J. Lellio Jr,, owner, Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home; state Sen. Joe Schiavoni; John Gocala Jr,. Boardman Police Department; Ken Johnson of V&M Star Steel; Judge Mary DeGenaro; Nick Graham, Warren assistant prosecutor; Pete Esparra, Humility of Mary Partners, 2012 Nominate A Player Honoree; Ray Housteau (“The Amazing Race” Season 7); Stacie Cepin, teacher and basketball coach in Austintown Local Schools; Timmy Bowser, YSU student; and Tom Seifert of Minutemen Press.

Cynthia Anderson, president of Youngstown State University, will be assistant coach, while Frank Frattaroli, director of marketing for the Belleria Pizza chain, will serve as team owner.

Team Davis consists of Amy Nilsson, a teacher in Howland Local Schools; Andrew Scarmack, teacher in Austintown; Bob Wolleben, CEO of Trumbull Memorial Hospital; Chris Jaskiewicz, of Evets Oil and Gas Construction; Deana Shade-Housteau (“The Amazing Race,” Season 7); Dorothy Bowers-Collins, director of Eastern Gateway Community College; George Dimos, owner of TanFastic Tanning Salon; Jeff Ryznar of Phizzle Inc.; Matt Morrone, assistant athletic director at YSU; and Shawn Jordan of My Valley Sports.

Laura Meeks, president of EGCC, will be assistant coach, with Rey Esparra of GBS Computers serving as team owner.
