LORDSTOWN
General Motors sold 15,049 Lordstown-built Chevrolet Cruzes in January, up 10.4 percent from the same month a year ago.
“Chevrolet drove our performance once again and sales of our fuel-efficient new cars were especially good,” said Don Johnson, vice president, U.S. Sales Operations. “The strength that the economy and the auto industry showed in the fourth quarter carried into January, so we believe the year is off to a good start.”
Overall, GM’s sales decreased 6 percent compared to last January.
There were 24 selling days in January 2011, the same number as in January 2010.
