FOOD SALES AND DINNERS


WEDNESDAY

Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a baked chicken dinner from 11:30 to 1 p.m. today at the church. The meal includes salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. Cost is $6.50, and containers will be available for takeout orders. No reservations are necessary. Robbins United Methodist Church, 100 High St., Washingtonville, is selling homemade soup by the quart today. Costs start at $6 per quart. Drive-through pick up will be from 4 to 6 p.m. For more information call the church at 330-427-2035.

THURSDAY

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will have takeout dinners available from 3:30 p.m. until sold out. The cost is $6. No need to preorder or get out of the car. Drive to the front of the church and your meal of baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will be ready.

Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will have a drive-through chicken dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out. The cost is $7 and includes stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie.

FRIDAY

East Side Block Watch will be serving spaghetti dinners at the East Side Crime Watch, corner of Oak and Fruit streets, Youngstown, from 11:30 a.m. until sold out. The sitdown meal will cost $7 per person and will include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, dessert and beverage. Takeout orders also will be available and can be placed by calling 330-742-4880. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $5 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday and 9:30 to 11. Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot Lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

King Solomon Lodge 87, 505 Highland Ave. SW, Warren, is having a fish fry from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. On the menu are catfish or whiting, green beans, macaroni and cheese, mean greens, potato salad, coleslaw, white bread and dessert. Dinners cost $8, and a sandwich is $6. Carryouts and deliveries are available.

St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $5 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $4.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Walk-in orders will be available. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, 155 Tod Ave. NW, Warren, will sell all-you-can-eat fish dinners from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The meal comes with ocean perch, potatoes, coleslaw, dessert and a beverage. The cost is $9 for adults and $3 for children. Meatloaf also is available. Carryouts will start at 3:30 p.m.

VFW Post 9571, 11397 Ellsworth Road, Ellsworth, will have an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Also available will be four-piece chicken, chicken fingers or shrimp with french fries or macaroni and cheese. The cost is $7.50 for adults and $7 for seniors.

SATURDAY

New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, will have a roast beef dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The meal includes a salad bar and dessert bar. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children over 5. Those 4 and under eat free. A bake sale also will be available.

Richard Brown United Methodist Church, 1205 Elm St., Youngstown, will serve a homemade chicken and biscuit dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The meal includes salad, vegetable, rolls and butter, dessert and a beverage. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Carryouts will be available.

Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Road, will have a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The meal includes Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce, bread and butter, dessert and a beverage. Takeouts are available. The cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children 5 to 12. Those 4 and under eat free.

SUNDAY

Christ Church Presbyterian, 1933 Canfield Road, Youngstown, will host a Souper Bowl sale of chili and tortilla soup for $6.50 per quart. A drive-through will be open from 2 to 4 p.m. Advance orders can be made by calling the church at 330-782-2611. If you get a recording, leave a message with your name and the quantities of soup you want. Soup will be available without an advance order while it lasts.

Southington Post of the American Legion will serve pancake breakfasts from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the post home, 3145 Warren-Burton Road. Donations are $6.50 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Those 4 and under may eat free. The breakfasts consist of pancakes and sausage or biscuits and gravy. Pancakes are all you can eat.

St. Mary Church, 3504 state Route 46, Mineral Ridge, will have a pancake, sausage, egg and French toast breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meals cost $6 for adults, $4 for children 5 to 11, and free for kids 4 and under.

TUESDAY

Mahoning United Methodist Church, 2214 Mahoning Ave., will sell stuffed cabbage rolls from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or until sold out) for $1.50 each. To order call 330-799-5318 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Friday. Walk-ins are welcome, but advance orders are appreciated.
