Miami Herald film critic Rene Rodriguez took one last — and highly irreverent — look at the year in film. Here are five of his insights:

v Best place for single guys who want to meet women: The theater lobby showing the male stripper comedy “Magic Mike.”

v Further proof that whenever Hollywood races to make two competing movies about the same subject, they both turn out bad: “Mirror, Mirror” and “Snow White and the Huntsman.”

v Best marketed movie: “Prometheus.” The ad campaign was better than the film.

v Best example of a good gag overstaying its welcome: The foul-mouthed teddy bear from “Ted.” Shut up, already.

v Most convincing proof mankind’s future is bright: Adam Sandler’s “That’s My Boy” and the jukebox musical “Rock of Ages” both bombed.

“Enchanted” (7 p.m., NBC): A winning Amy Adams carries this slight tale of a fairytale princess in modern-day New York.

“new year’s rockin’ eve celebrates dick clark” (8 p.m., abc): Jenny McCarthy and Fergie host this prime-time tribute to the man who, since 1972, had taken great joy in counting us down to midnight. Clark, who died in April, is remembered via clips of past festivities and never-before-seen archival footage. Also included: Performances by Taylor Swift, Neon Trees, Flo Rida and Carly Rae Jepson. The celebration continues after the retrospective as Ryan Seacrest, who joined Clark as co-host in 2005, leads viewers into the new year.

“live from lincoln center” (8 p.m., pbs): “Live From Lincoln Center” presents “One Singular Sensation: Celebrating Marvin Hamlisch.” It’s a rousing tribute to the famed composer-conductor who died last summer. Audra McDonald is our host.

“Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2013” (9 p.m., ABC): Tonight’s countdown (interrupted only by your local news) features performances by Brandy, Taylor Swift and Pitbull.

“new year’s eve with carson daly” (10 p.m., nbc): “New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly” has the host of “The Voice” kicking off the celebration in prime time from New York City’s Times Square with plenty of musical accompaniment.
