YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State University is seeking employers to participate in the new internship and co-op program funded by a $575,000 grant from the Ohio Board of Regents.

New placements will begin as early as the spring semester. Interested employers are invited to an information session from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Friday in the Williamson College of Business Administration. Presenters will review the new program and how employers can get involved.

More than 100 new internship and co-op placements will be developed for science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) fields and business fields such as accounting, finance, management and marketing during the coming year, according to a YSU news release.

The new grant will provide partial reimbursement to employers for the wages paid to the interns and co-op students.

Employers interested in establishing new placements should contact Sherri Hrusovski at slhrusovski@ysu.edu or 330-941-2912 for STEM or Leigh Ann Waring, lawaring@ysu.edu, for business.
