AUSTINTOWN

Amanda Varone and Greg McGlynn, both of Austintown, were united in marriage June 23 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

The Rev. John Summers, the great-uncle of the groom, officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at St. Mary’s Assumption Social Center in Youngstown.

After a wedding trip to Aruba, the couple reside in Austintown.

Parents of the couple are Daniel and Karen Varone of Youngstown and Douglas and Maribeth McGlynn of Austintown.

The bride wore an ivory strapless satin gown with a sweetheart neckline adorned with crystal embellishments.

Nicole Simpson served as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Melissa Alvarez, the bride’s cousin; Shannon Shovlin, sister of the groom; and Ashley Stecker. The bride’s cousin, Ava Juillerat, was flower girl. The attendants wore canary yellow gowns.

Shane Price performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen included Daniel Varone, brother of the bride; Derek Frost, cousin of the groom; and Grant Brown. Hunter Stacy, the groom’s nephew, was ring bearer.

The bride earned a degree in licensed practical nursing from Choffin School of Practical Nursing. She is a nurse at Healthcare with Heart in Boardman.

The groom earned a bachelor’s in criminal justice from Youngstown State University. He is a police officer with Austintown Police Department.
