Registration is open for Mahoning & Columbiana Training Association’s Bestway program that helps youths age 17 to 21 earn their GED and acquire job skills.

The program is free, and participants have the opportunity to receive up to a $500 bonus upon successful completion of the eight-week program.

Classes are scheduled to begin in February and will take place at the MCTA office, 9 W. Front St.

Individuals considering getting a GED should be aware that the current procedure for acquiring a GED will change at the end of 2013.

Scores for portions of the test will expire then if the entire test has not been passed. Testing fees also will increase.
