WARREN

Swearing-in ceremonies took place at the Trumbull County Courthouse on Thursday for 13 officials elected to public office. Two others were unable to attend.

First up were state Reps Sean O’Brien of Brookfield, D-63rd, and Tom Letson of Warren, D-64th.

Letson was elected to his fourth term. Term limits prevent him from running again.

Judge Andrew Logan of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, who administered the oath of office for several other officials, took the oath himself.

Another judge sworn in was Ronald J. Rice, who was elected to the common-pleas court bench to replace Judge John M. Stuard, who retired. Judge Rice served as Eastern District Court judge for 20 years.

Sandra Stabile Harwood took the oath of office for her new position as common- pleas domestic-relations and juvenile-court judge, along with incumbent domestic-relations judge Pamela Rintala.

County Commissioners Dan Polivka and Paul Heltzel were sworn in, as well as Karen Infante Allen, county clerk of courts, Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk, county coroner, and Sam Lamancusa, county treasurer.

Randy Smith, appointed county engineer 18 months ago, was sworn in to his elected position as county engineer for the first time. Longtime Sheriff Thomas Altiere took the oath, but County Prosecutor Dennis Watkins and County Recorder Diana Marchese were unable to attend.
