A summary of recent criminal activity in Liberty and Girard:

LIBERTY

Dec. 21

Theft: Angela Y. Trice-Harris, 32, of 230 Lakewood Ave., Youngstown, was charged with stealing about $120 worth of merchandise from Dollar General in the Liberty Plaza. She also was wanted on an outstanding warrant accusing her of failure to appear in court.

Counterfeit: A Youngstown woman unwittingly passed a fake $10 bill at a McDonald’s drive-through window, 3630 Belmont Ave., and was not charged with any wrongdoing.

Criminal damaging: A charge was pending against a 49-year-old Cortland man after the front door to the lobby area of a Motor Inn Drive motel was damaged.

Theft by deception: A cashier at Subway, 200 Goldie Road, reported a man short-changed her $70.

Drugs: Authorities near Colonial Drive stopped a bicyclist before charging 54-year-old Brian J. Evans with heroin possession and possession of dangerous drugs, a felony and a misdemeanor, respectively. Evans, of 3037 Hadley Ave., Liberty, had a white powder in a container that tested positive for heroin, as well as one Valium tablet in his pocket, police said.

Theft/disrupting public services: Someone in the 100 block of Warner Road cut and stole 120 feet of phone cable valued at $5,000, which interrupted service to customers in the vicinity.

Menacing: A Pine Crest Road man reported having opened an envelope mailed to his home that contained two threatening, handwritten messages.

Theft: A Hamilton, Ohio, man discovered three gift cards missing from his room at an East Liberty Street motel.

Robbery: A township woman told police a man in his 20s wearing a blue jacket, dark jogging pants and a black skull cap sneaked up and grabbed her purse, causing the victim to fall, as she walked in the 3000 block of Hadley Avenue.

Recovered property: Youngstown police recovered a 1998 Dodge vehicle that a Norwood Avenue woman had reported stolen.

Dec. 22

Burglary: James M. Perkins, 18, of 550 W. Chalmers Ave., Youngstown, faced a burglary charge after someone broke a window and entered a residence in the 3000 block of Northgate Road. A plastic bag and a pair of shoes were among items police seized as evidence, a report showed.

Arrest: Officers responded to a fight in the 200 block of Goldie Road before arresting Keith Mitchell of 2244 Goleta Ave., Youngstown, on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court. Mitchell, 42, also was charged with falsification when, police said, he provided a fake name and two phony dates of birth.

Dec. 24

Theft: Fifty compact discs and a $100 iPod device were removed from a car in the 400 block of Montrose Street.

Recovered property: Campbell police had towed a 2001 Chevrolet Impala that reportedly was used in a vehicular pursuit in their jurisdiction after a Belmar Avenue woman had reported the car stolen.

Dec. 25

Arrest: A traffic stop near Interstate 80 led to 33-year-old Jason Cangelo’s arrest. The Tionesta, Pa., man was charged with operating a vehicle impaired.

Possible theft: A Portland, Ore., woman reported her purse lost or stolen near a Belmont Avenue motel.

Recovered property: A man walking in the 200 block of Goldie Road found a wallet.

GIRARD

Dec. 22

Harassment: A Smithsonian Street man reported having received a threatening call, placing him in fear for his safety.

Menacing: A motorist near Highland Avenue told police another driver punched two of the accuser’s vehicle’s windows.

Criminal damaging: A rock was tossed at a window of a home in the 100 block of Crumlin Avenue, resulting in a $250 damage estimate.

Dec. 24

Criminal mischief: Someone threw a potted plant at a window of a residence in the 100 block of Crumlin Avenue.

Dec. 25

Arrest: Police responded to a vehicular accident near Park Avenue, where they took into custody Samantha M. Peacock, no information given, who was wanted on a warrant from Tiffin, Ohio, accusing her of failing to appear in court on a theft charge.
