Men posing as snow shovelers invade Girard home, steal firearms
GIRARD
Police are searching for two men who invaded a home after posing as snow shovelers.
Officers said the men knocked on the door of a Miller Drive home about 9 p.m. Wednesday and asked if they could clear the homeowner’s driveway of snow.
According to reports, the two men forced their way into the home and pushed the victim to the ground. The victim said he was subdued by one man while the other ransacked his bedroom and living room.
He said the robbers took a 9 mm pistol, a shotgun and his cellphone.
Witnesses outside said they saw two men run to a light-colored SUV, and one man carried a shotgun. They said the SUV drove north on Atlanta Street.
