McFarland draws 23 more felony charges in gun shop theft

A McGuffey Road man charged in a Sept. 23 gun shop break-in has been indicted on 23 additional counts of grand theft, one for each gun he is accused of stealing.

Brett McFarland, 19, was charged with the new counts in a superseding indictment issued Thursday by the Mahoning County grand jury.

A week earlier, the grand jury had indicted him on charges of breaking and entering and 10 counts of grand theft, one for each gun missing from AAA Customs, a federally licensed firearms dealer at 2500 Market St. on the city’s South Side.

The grand-theft counts, all first-degree felonies, allege theft of pistols, revolvers, rifles and machine guns.

Others indicted Thursday were:

Shane M. Peterson, 32, of East Indiana Avenue, Sebring, illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs (methamphetamine) in the vicinity of a school.

Lance A. Coffer, 50, of Roslyn Drive, heroin possession.

Ronny Daviduk, 29, of Elm Street, Struthers, failure to comply with a police order, breaking and entering and two counts of receiving stolen property.

Bernard A. Hasley Jr., 23, of Benita Avenue, possession of dangerous drugs.

Michael S. Stanley, 25, of Philadelphia Avenue, heroin possession with a forfeiture specification.

Jevon Prieto, 29, of Atkinson Avenue, improperly handling a gun in a motor vehicle and illegal gun possession.

Jessica N. Quigley, 26, of Evaline Street, Southeast, Warren, heroin possession.

Franklin W. Barwick, 59, of Belle Avenue, driving under the influence of alcohol after five prior DUI convictions within 20 years.

Esteban E. Diaz, 23, of Westchester Drive, Austintown, burglary.

Katherin L. Phelan, 36, of North Meridian Road, Austintown, drug trafficking and corrupting another with drugs.

Alana K. Reese, 18, of Beaver, Pa., heroin possession, forgery and receiving stolen property.

Joseph F. Zimmerman, 21, of New Road, Austintown, heroin possession.
