POLICE CALLS

A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown Township:

CANFIELD

Dec. 23

Drug abuse: James Williams, 38, of 345 Randolph St., Youngstown was arrested for drug abuse of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, a crack pipe with residue.He also had a small bag of crack cocaine in his possession.

Telephone harassment: A resident in the 100 block of Chapel Lane reported receiving 10 to 15 calls a day from a Youngstown number and the caller hung up when the phone was answered.

AUSTINTOWN

Dec. 17

Theft: Two unlocked vehicles were entered and money and a camera were taken in the 5000 block of Virginia Drive.

Theft: One large white 300-gallon gas tank was stolen at Superior Beverage, 421 Victoria Road.

Theft: A firearm was missing from a residence in the 4000 block of Maureen Drive.

Aggravated robbery: Two unidentified males are suspects in a robbery at a home in the 30 block of Lexington Place.

Burglary: An XBox and a laptop were stolen from the Economy Inn, 1051 Niles-Canfield Road.

Warrant: Rickey Evans, 41, of 6871/2 12th St., Campbell, was arrested on warrants for breaking and entering and theft.

Theft: A package was taken from an apartment in the 4000 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Auto theft: A 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier was stolen from the 900 block of Compass West Drive and towed by Youngstown police after an accident.

Burglary: Two televisions and a microwave were taken from an apartment in the 30 block of Idlewood Road.

Dec. 18

Theft: A pickup left unlocked was robbed of two shotguns in the 5000 block of Baker St.

Criminal damaging: A boat trailer was damaged at a home in the 2000 block of Oak Trace.

Burglary: Police charged Brian Bleggi Jr.,20, of 3315 Black Oak Lane, Youngstown, with burglary after his arrest in the township.

Telecommunications harassment: An ex-girlfriend was reported to be calling at a home in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.

Theft: An unidentified white male stole alcohol at One Stop Shop, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Fraud: $1,000.21 was taken from a Home Savings and Loan account of a person who owns a home in the 500 block of Impala Drive.

Assault: A man was assaulted by two unidentified males at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Dec. 19

Criminal damaging: Damage was reported at the Wedgewood Community Center, 4301 New Road.

Criminal trespassing: Unidentified people moved into a vacant home in the 200 block of North Main Street.

Warrant: Police arrested Taneshia Zeigler, 23, of 631 Tenney St., Campbell, on a warrant for telephone harassment.

Breaking and entering: Copper was stolen from a home in the 2000 block of Redgate Lane.

Identity fraud: Identity fraud was reported at a home in the 200 block of South Main Street.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Richard Marshall, 27, of 2250 Woodland Trace, for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Dec. 20

Theft: Cash and credit cards were taken, and a window was broken at home in the 4000 block of Norquest Boulevard.

Burglary: Medication and $80 was taken from a home in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.

Theft: Police charged Jajuan Jones, 20, of 1754 Silliman St., Youngstown, with theft for taking $106.25 in merchandise at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Lost or stolen property: A purse was reported missing at Walmart.

Burglary: Nothing was stolen in a break-in at a home in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was scratched at Sandwich Factory, 15 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Dec.21

Burglary: A burglary was reported in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Theft: A wallet was stolen at J.C. Penney, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: There is a suspect in a theft at a home in the 3000 block of Lynhaven Road.

Theft: A camera was stolen from an auto parked in the 4000 block of Norquest Boulevard.

Warrant: Police issued a warrant to Pamela Sneed, 50, of 1400 Springdale Ave., Youngstown, for failure to appear on a warrant for begging.

Dec. 22

Breaking and entering: Copper was stolen from a home in the 300 block of North Turner Road.

Dec. 23

Fraud: $1,800 was charged to a credit card at a home in the 1000 block of Mulberry Run.

Theft: Police issued a summons to Richard Fanzo, 19, of 2819 Coblentz Drive, Poland, on a theft charge for allegedly taking candy bar and crackers from the Sheetz gas station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Aggravated robbery: A male suspect with a knife took the cash drawer at BP, 3002 Mahoning Ave.
